To meet the needs of a growing number of OEMs seeking alternate gearmotor suppliers for not only new, but also legacy, equipment designs Bison Gear & Engineering Corp. introduces a new series of fractional horsepower DC gearmotors featuring right angle worm gearing. Designed to also function as Von Weise Drop-In Replacements, the Bison Gear VWDIR23 gearmotors are available in 6 standard 90 volt DC input models. With gear ratios from 37:1 to 525:1, corresponding fixed output speeds range from 90 to 3 RPM, and output torques from 34 to 250 in-lbs (3.8 to 28.3 N-m). These Bison drop-in replacements for VW23 and VW33 gearmotors feature 1/10 or 1/20 hp (75 or 150 watt) permanent magnet DC motors with replaceable brushes, grease lubrication for long life and all-position mounting, with left, right or dual output shafts with a 100 lb. (45.4 kg.) overhung load rating. "This is a compact, extremely versatile gearmotor design that meets the requirements of many industrial and commercial applications such as in machine tools, recreational and agricultural equipment, and conveyors" said Bunnyray Larmond, Bison Gear Regional Sales Manager. "The permanent magnet DC motor offers much higher starting torque capability than comparable AC motors and we can even mount a new Bison integral speed control directly to these gearmotors for even more versatility, as well as energy savings."*Castings: Zinc Die Castings *Lubrication: Grease *Gears: Steel *Worm: Hardened Steel *Output Gear: Cast Iron *Bearings: Porous Bronze Sleeve on Gear Case, Ball Bearings on Motor *Mounting: All Positions *Rotation: Reversible *Seals: Lip Seal on Output *Agency Approval: UL & CSA
