POSITECTOR PT-200 NONDESTRUCTIVELY MEASURES COATING THICKNESSES ON WOOD, CONCRETE, PLASTIC AND MORE

Sept. 18, 2009
Utilizing proven, ultrasonic technology, the newly redesigned Positector PT-200 provides a fast, easy and affordable alternative to destructive measurement techniques. Companies manufacturing wooden cabinetry, furniture, flooring, and similar products will find it ideal for measuring coatings such as paint, powder, varnish, lacquer and more. It is equally well-suited for measuring polymer coatings on concrete/masonry structures, composites and plastics. The PT-200 comes in two models: PT-200B measures thicknesses of 0.5 to 40 mils (13 to 1000µm); while PT-200C accommodates thicknesses of 2 to 150 mils (40 to 3800 µm). Each model can be specified with Standard or Advanced features. Standard features measure the total coating thickness quickly and easily. The Advanced feature set measures total coating thickness or up to 3 individual layer thicknesses in a multi-layer system. It also includes a graphic readout for detailed analysis of the coating system. Simple to operate and designed for manufacturing environments, the PT-200 meets IP5X standards and conforms to ASTM D6132 and ISO 2808. It has a large, impact-resistant Lexan display, and is encased in a shock-absorbing rubber jacket. All models include USB/Serial/IR  ports for data download, a high-flex cable and a plastic-tipped probe that won’t scratch surfaces. An NIST traceable calibration certificate and two-year warranty are also provided.• Measuring Range: 0.5 – 150 mils (13 – 3800 µm)
