Sherwin-Williams introduces EnviroLastic AL, an aliphatic polyurea coating system that offers excellent color and gloss retention compared to traditional aromatic polyureas. EnviroLastic AL prevents yellowing and gloss reduction from UV light and offers elastomeric performance by bridging gaps up to 1/8 inch. The combination of weatherability, crack bridging capability and adhesion properties make this USDA-approved, seamless coating system suitable for interior and exterior walls and ceilings as well as exterior tanks and silos at manufacturing facilities, food and beverage plants or pharmaceutical clean rooms. “The fast dry times and extraordinary toughness, along with the ability to apply at very high film thicknesses allows customers to return to production quicker” said Narsi Bodapati, Vice President of Marketing, Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings. “In addition, it combines color stability and the durability our customers expect.” This low-odor, zero-VOC, 100 percent solids coating is also in accordance with SSPC standards for Paint 39 which stipulate performance requirements for a two-component weatherable, polyurea topcoat. EnviroLastic AL can be applied at thicknesses of 30-250 mils, which provides a quick return to service with a three minute tack-free time and 24 hours for a full cure. Sherwin-Williams’ EnviroLastic polyurea portfolio was introduced to provide a seamless, durable, yet flexible, coating with premium adhesion.
