Stainless steel ECO-Pipe is now available as the newest pipe offering for Viega’s ProPress® stainless system. ECO-Pipe is a thin-walled 304 stainless steel pipe that offers an economical solution for stainless steel pipe systems that require corrosion resistance and aesthetics. Viega’s ProPress system for joining stainless steel pipe uses a unique press technology to secure pipe connections in less than seven seconds. The system, consisting of pipe, valves and fittings, provides a faster, more reliable, flameless way to make water-tight and gas-tight stainless steel connections. Offered in a range of sizes from 1/2 to 4 inches, ECO-Pipe is available in lengths of 20 feet, and is designed to be used with Viega’s ProPress system including stainless 304 fittings. It is ideal for general utility applications such as compressed air and chilled water lines, as well as other applications. “Our ECO-Pipe is an economical solution that offers contractors as much as 20 percent savings over standard stainless steel. Combined with the savings and time that contractors and facility managers can achieve using the Viega ProPress system for stainless steel, ECO-Pipe is an excellent product for contractors looking for a less expensive pipe solution,” said Christoph Volkmer, associate product director, Viega.
The Viega ProPress system can be installed wet or dry, making it ideal for maintenance or emergency repair jobs, reducing costly downtime by decreasing plant shutdowns.
The Viega ProPress system with stainless steel pipe, fittings and valves is ideal for industrial and commercial installations in applications such as food and beverage processing, chemical processing, pharmaceutical and biotech processing, oil and gas, mining and manufacturing. Since the Viega ProPress system is a flameless system, it is safer than a traditional system and eliminates the need for hot permits. The system is also clean, as it requires no welding rods, smoke, cutting oils or grinding.
Viega’s ProPress system also features the patented Smart Connect® feature that provides a quick and easy way for installers to identify connections that need pressing, so that they are not missed. Used in Europe since 2001 and introduced in the United States in 2005, the Smart Connect feature has assured hundreds of millions of leak-free connections.
