igubal Spherical Pillow Block Bearings

March 8, 2022
igus' pillow block bearings are a maintenance-free, economically effective alternative to classic cast iron housing bearings.

igubal pillow blocks (both the spherical ball and its housing) are designed with high-performance, self-lubricating plastic materials for dry-running operation. They don’t require any external lubricants, which enables the system to be maintenance-free and resistant to dirt and dust.

The pillow blocks are also corrosion-resistant, lightweight, vibration-damping, and highly rigid and durable while compensating for misalignment errors and shaft deflection. Suitable movements include linear, rotating, oscillating, and pivoting.

igus tests these pillow blocks each year inside of its 41,000 ft2 test lab in Germany. The data is stored in its online service life calculator, which you can use to calculate how many hours a specific pillow block is expected to last inside your application.
